N.E.R.D's Got A Female!

As Pharrell's group, N.E.R.D., gears up for the next album, Instant Gratification, the group reveals that a new member has been added -- a female singer named Rhea.

In a recent inteview with MTV, Pharrell said Rhea's addition to the group adds a "very 3D" aspect to their sound, which is the reason he scooped her up.

"Musically, we're just somewhere else [with her]," the producer said. "The music is now very 3-D. It's something you have to hear. But you'll see. We're definitely somewhere else. I want to leave that impact moment for when you purchase your download and you purchase your CD. The music is very three-dimensional. We're just really excited. We feel like N.E.R.D. has always been the punks of hip-hop and the outcasts of alternative music -- just a little different. But this time, we're taking no prisoners."

Rhea is a Toronto native of Guyanese descent. She met them once before auditioning for the spot via Skype. She sang "His Eye Is on the Sparrow," and it impressed the guys so much, they signed her to the group.

"It was just a really good time," she said of meeting. "When I came in there and I met them and they heard me sing, I think they decided it was the right fit."

"Don't be bashful," Pharrell added. "We lost our minds. We thought she was great."

N.E.R.D.'s upcoming Instant Gratification album is due out in 2010. Until then, they will be on tour with Jay-Z for the Blueprint 3 tour.

The group consists of Pharrell Williams, Chad Hugo , Shay Haley, and now Rhea.

  

French President Downloaded Illegal Movies.. Hahaha.

The French President, Nicolas Sarkozy was busted with 400 illegal copies of DVDs.

Initially, 50 legitimate DVDs were given to political and personalities, but the demand was larger.

According to The Inquirer, the French leader requested the alternative copies of the film to distribute among some diplomats during a conference. A request was made to the service of Audiovisual of the Presidency of the Republic to record some hundreds of copies, without asking any authorization from the producers of the film.

According to The Huffington Post, the absurdity was so much that the original layer and the logo of the producer Galaxie Presse were substituted by information as ‘Service audiovisuel de la presidence de la Republique’. (Service Audiovisuals Of The President Of The Republic for the people who can't understand that!!)

The copy of the documentary “A Visage Decouvert: Nicolas Sarkozy” represents the possible most constraining situation to a president that is famous for the fight against the file sharing. The nation is embarrassed, said a French woman.

As news published by the site Guardian.co.uk in February of this year, is not the first time that that happens: Sarkozy used a music of the band repeatedly MGMT in some videos without the permission of the group.

Jay-Z Gave Rihanna A Babsitter!

Partying celebs have caused big problems in the past for their careers and companies respectively. Rihanna has been on the club and party scene HEAVY ever since her and Chris Brown split. 

(Go Figure! Smh..) Rumored relationships, international parties, nude pics, and a few drunken stumbling out of the club  shots have all seen by the public and it has come out that El Presidente is not too happy about it and has taken steps to curb this partying.

Jay-Z, who discovered and signed Rihanna, thinks her partying is cheapening her image and has given her a babysitter to make sure she doesn’t get too wild. 

Supposedly Jay gave RiRi one of his OWN bodyguards and assigned him the mission of not letting Rihanna go down the Britney and Paris road of fame. The babysitter is with Rihanna full time until Jay says otherwise. 

This is hilarious to me!

Jay-Z held the #1 spot in MTV’s ‘Hottest MC’s In The Game’ list of 2009. Jay decided to send a letter to MTV to thank them & also provide some words about the absence of Eminem. 

Here’s what he had to say:

“MTV, Thanx for this nod of appreciation,” Jay wrote. “Although I don’t strive to be ‘hot’ for any particular year, I thank you for the acknowledgment. My whole goal is to be recognized as the best ever. I created the term ‘best rapper alive’ as a sign of respect to my fallen comrades (Biggie and Tupac). I believe I’ve allowed a significant grace period, and I believe I would not be respecting myself if being the absolute best was not my goal, and that’s why I continue to push myself until exhaustion … salute.
“Sidebar: Kanye moment if I may … Eminem?!?! I think you do the credibility of this list a disservice if you don’t thoroughly explain his omission,” Jay continued. “As of this second he has the highest selling rap album of the year and a scene stealing verse on the best ‘posse’ cut of the year .
